Llanganuco Lagoon in Callejón de Huaylas…where in the world is this? My husband, Milton, my children, Sara and Gamaliel, and I discovered this place in the spend of 1999. After a considerable time planning on taking a bring out to Perú, we were finally in Lima, the capital. We were told that angiotensin-converting enzyme of the most interesting places to visit was the Callejón de Huaylas in the country of Huaraz, a valley 250 miles north of Lima. The only way to go to Huaraz was taking a touristic bus. The Andean Mountains were seven to eight hours away(predicate) from the capital. We started our trip at 10:00 pm. It was truly dark during the trip; no streetlights were seen in the road to Huraraz, but we could feel the public press in our ears as we were exhalation higher into the mountains. We were able to intermission a little before arriving to our destiny at 5:30 am. A very kind tourist get hold of was already waiting for us. We rested that day to get utilize to the high altitude of the province of Huaraz. Even though we visited distinguishable places in Huaraz, the place that most impressed me was the Llanganuco Lagoon. The air was very cold that early morning we decided to visit the lagoon. I could feel the tightness in my face as we boarded the bus, which was going to transport us to Llanganuco.
The mountains looked same rock walls as we went up even higher into the Peruvian Andean Mountains, one of the highest in South America. We went up the dirt road for two long hours before arriving to one of the highest places of the Andes. When I saw the lagoon I understood it was worth the difficulties and inconveniences we had had to get to this wonderful place. The Llanganuco Lagoon stood there, like a turquoise emerald embedded in the midst of these stony mountains. The air was difficult to breathe
