Malathion Risk Assessment
Genericvile is an economically diverse metropolis that has a population of 100,000 population which is exceedingly dependent on the tourism that it sees during the summer months. The city has a river that runs right through the center of it that has wetlands that protects the city from flooding during the spring. These wetlands support nutrients for many species of fish and birds located in this area of the city. The wetlands are what make Genericville a popular tourist attraction for the people that vacation here. These same wetlands also serve as a behavior ground for mosquitoes that can spread various complaints.
whiz disease that the mosquitoes can carry is the westbound Nile virus (WNV). The western United States Nile Virus is a dangerous nervous system disease that spreads through mosquitoes primarily. Mosquitoes breed in the wetlands that run through the city of Genericville, and they feed on deep birds that have been infected with the west Nile Virus. With the recent heavy rains in Genericville and the possible increase of mosquitoes breeding in the wetlands the City Council is faced with a intention to garter alleviate the spread of this dangerous disease.
The City Council has a proposal in front of them to help alleviate the spread of the West Nile Virus in their community. This proposal will be salaried for by a wealthy city resident that has suffered the expiry of a family member from the West Nile Virus. The proposal is an extensive architectural plan that would require the aerial disperse and ground application of a pesticide known as Malathion.
