Crime and Punishment interrogation Analysis

While reading the book Crime and Punishment, by Fyodor Dostoevsky, one may wonder how to interpret the imagery and symbolization Dostoevsky described by dint ofout the novel. Crime and Punishment is a fictitious story whose purpose it was to serve as an example of the savour of guilt. While reading one may notice the grandeur of clock, it is invariably being told what time is from the moment when Raskolnikov wakes up, when planning his take away of the pawnbroker and, the time it is when Svidrigailov plans to kill himself. This gives a feeling of some manikin of order, but it is still difficult to follow. The different times, all through the novel is meant to intertwine and confuse the reader, with all the winding sequences of dreams, flashbacks, hallucinations, and moments of unconsciousness, it is designedly bemusing coming from Raskolnikov whom is obsessed with time but ironically does not have a grasp on it. He begins losing time when he gets overly excited or dreaming; sometimes he fancied he had been lying there a month; at other times it all seemed deduct of the same day But of that of that he had no recollection, and to date every minute he felt that he had disregarded something he ought to remember.

Nonetheless, his perception of time does not differ withal far from the actual time, knowing the time at the stipulation moment Raskolnikov begins to drift away from time, not knowing where he has been and why. This again explains how critical his mental state is and how easily he could become distracted from the real world. Not whole does he suffer from mental problems but also the reference of the problem comes from within society itself, he has become alienated.
