Many elements of a playfulness makes drama unique and in the Riders if the sea it is the structure, the foreshadowing of the tragedy and its relation to the element of guilt which is not personal guilt, the emotional acceptance of fate, the deprivation of complication and dignity of the main character.
How do the literary themes of Riders to the Sea relate to the dramatic form?
Riders to the Sea, focuses on the issue of emotions. Maurya is the hot flash example of emotional release in Synges play. After losing her hubby and majority of all the male figures in her family. There is a great deal of emotion that is being displayed even though we learn that she is sleeping. Despite her woes, she does not wallow in her self-pity: her acceptance of fate is never more evident than in her final speech when she says No man at all shag be living forever, and we must be satisfied. Through Maurya the play write Synge gives his readers emotional release and proves that life goes on.

Macbeth shows the extent to which people will go in inn to realize their own ambitions, even to murder. As soon as it is suggested to Macbeth that he will be king thereafter, the wheels begin act in his subconscious. It is his insanely ambitious wife, however, who immediately seizes the prophecy and urges him on to murder. As heinous as the murders committed by Macbeth are in the play, it is Lady Macbeth who offers the most compelling character study, in my opinion. She is the perfect example of the dark side of human nature, vile the viewer/reader when she states that she would rip a nursing fry from her breast and dash out its brains if thats what it would take to show Macbeth her liking for his kingship and her willingness to help him secure it.
