Bobbie Ann Mason s chronicle Clear Springs : A Memoir brings us back to her bread and furtherter in Mayfield where she uses physical images for her youth, the routines and rhythms of farm life, and constant concern for fodder, home-grown, home-cooked food to illustrate rural experience, her journey in exploring the world ,discoveries by means of her family generation and embracing her own culture .She shares her adventure in finding the greater world outside their
little dairy farm farm , success and failure and in the end unraveling the greatness of her family that holds her rooted. Bobbie narrates her life in Mayfield, illustrating Kentucky and the kind of life, the history Mayfield and how the Masons acquired their land. They live in a farm in Sunnyside Road which was a cubic centimetre down townsfolk Mayfield their farm is 53 acres and cut into half a dozen fields and two houses along the frontage. Her mother allowed her to get soiled, but she never tried to teach her how to cook. You were a lady of unfilled and you didnt want to help. You had your nose in a record book (136) .Her family grew their own food, made their own clothes, while other the great unwashed buy whatever they needed. Her mama always said to her they werent poor, but they were country.



They had three wardrobes everyday clothes, school clothes, and Sunday clothes. forwards they ate big Sunday dinner they had to change their clothes. Her family like outdoor life and living in the country. Bobbie wasnt skilful living on the farm. She always was very excited when they went to town. It was a different world for her. Food was better in town; it wasnt plain and everyday the hamburger and barbecue places, the photographic film shows, all the places to buy things. Hamburgers in town were greasier, and they came in cover paper package. (137)
